Job Summary: The Manager, Agent Business Development will build Agency Banking market position by recruiting strategic agents, enhancing services offered and pricing these services competitively, to drive growth in transaction volume, revenue and profitability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:   
Agent network growth: Identify, negotiate, contract and form and manage distribution partnerships with Businesses that have existing distribution outlets.
Agency banking competitive positioning: Conduct competitor technology, product, service, pricing and commissions analysis and implement competitive product, service, pricing and commissions structure to ensure the bank is abreast or ahead of industry.
Agency banking usage and profitability growth: Drive usage and profitability by implementing effective promotional activities with agents and branches including market storms, road shows, promotions and awareness drives
Agency banking feature enhancement
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement of agency banking services to better meet customer needs and generate additional revenue streams
  • Work with product, IT and business teams develop and implement service enhancements
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Number of active Agents vs target
  • Competitor product, service, pricing and commissions analysis
  • Competitive product, service, pricing and commissions structure.
  • Effective promotional activities with agents achieving set targets
  • Agency banking profitability, revenue and transactions against target.
  • Agency banking feature enhancements implemented vs target

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank Manager, Agent Business Development job placement should preferably hold a Degree from a recognized institution
  • Effective Business Communication: The ability to communicate information and ideas in a clear and concise manner appropriate for the audience in order to explain, persuade, convince and influence others to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Campaign Management: The ability to plan, create, track, store, distribute, analyse results and reports on communication, branding or advertising campaigns.
  • Product Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of the features, benefits and pricing of the products and services on offer to personal banking customers across multiple customer segments.
  • Customer Understanding: The ability to analyse customer needs by engaging with them, analysing their personal financial objectives as well as their current financial position.
  • Banking Process and Procedures: Sound knowledge of the Bank’s laid down policies and procedures as it relates to the processing of customer transactions.
  • Heart of Customer Experience: Within the Standard Bank Customer Experience Framework, the ability to treat the customer with respect and dignity, at a personal level, in a positive and friendly manner.
